Amidst all that’s happening around the world right now, there’s one ray of hope that we cannot possibly look past. Yes, its summer – during which we hope things would be much settled. For those students who are planning to fly to Canada for the new semester or currently residing there, a little summer vacation in Vancouver would be just perfect.

Since the late 70s’ Vancouver was nicknamed as ‘Hollywood North’ due to its role as a production center for a number of Hollywood blockbuster movies and TV shows. But Vancouver is not all about screen scenes and ratings. Here’s 5 places in Vancouver which you must visit in summer.

Travel to Gastown

A city of the olden days with souvenir shops, trendy cafes, gourmet lounges and seafood eateries, Vancouver’s Gastown is the ideal place for you to breath in the Canadian spirit. With a history that dates back to the 1800s’ you can find a number of architectural marvels hidden in this city. Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge

The Capilano River crossover bridge in North Vancouver has won over many hearts of thrill-enthusiasts. The bridge is 140 meters in length and stands 70 meters above the river. However if you happen to have height phobias, we advise you go with someone who doesn’t. Believe us, it’s quite scary for a first-timer.

Visit Queen Elizabeth Park

A horticultural jewel located in Vancouver, Queen Elizabeth Park is any nature admirer’s paradise. Not only is the park a floral haven, but also houses tennis, basketball and roller hockey playgrounds etc. It is also home to some of the most stunning giant sculptures in the city, – and of course – scenic views and great dining as well.
